Pinus contorta 'Chief Joseph' 2 gallon

Chief Joseph Shore Pine has color like no other! There is no yellow evergreen that can match this plant's color during winter! ‘Chief Joseph’ is easy to grow.The  Plant is striking golden yellow from Halloween through the following May. The tree then turns to a chartreuse green color for the growing season, until late October when it goes through the big change again. ‘Chief Joseph’ only grows 4” per year, making it suitable for the small garden.  Use as a key piece where there is a lot of blue and dark green winter color and the plant will really pop when it gets cold. Very rare in the nursery business and seldom seen in Arboretums or botanical gardens. Discovered in Oregon in the early 90's by Doug Mills.  Buy one and you will forget the price after Halloween!! An absolute must for the collector!!! Plant in full to part sun in fertile well drained soil.Hardy from zones 5-9. In 10 years this plant will be 3' tall and 2.5' wide. 2 gallon
