'Samurai Sword' has dark burgundy red foliage, more purple than red. Not your ordinary Japanese maple! It will grow 25 ft tall and 20 ft broad, in an upright dense bushy form. This tree is great for providing color, shade, and privacy. Has a strong, dominant central leader, and is fast-growing when young. Best in sun to part sun, likes well-drained soil. Hardy to zone 5.
