Crimson Sunset Maple is very similar to a past variety called Crimson King Maple. Due to its hybrid roots from Acer truncatum, this tree can withstand the summer heat better, giving it a prettier, more consistent black-purple color. In the fall the leaves brighten to a maroon-red. Grows 35' tall by 25' broad. Hardy to zone 4.
