Tamukeyama is the best laceleaf Japanese Maple for colder climates. The foliage is serrated and reddish maroon in color. Fall color is scarlet red. Its cascading branching structure is very complex and interesting for winter exposure. Acer palmatum dissectum 'Tamukeyama' was first noted in the literature in Japan in 1700s, a testimony to its staying power. Grows in full sun to partial shade. May grow to 6-8' tall by 15-20' broad at maturity. Hardy to zones 5-8.
