Fireglow Japanese Maple has an upright, vase shape, with vivid bright red autumn foliage. Acer palmatum 'Fireglow' gets its name from the fluorescent red glow it gets when the sun goes through the leaves. Generally this happens at the nursery around one or two in the afternoon during the summer months when the sun is high. It can be seen from a hundred yards away.
