Japanese Stewartia is a great flowering tree seldom seen in the landscape. Stewartia pseudocamellia bloom in early July with fragrant white flowers. 2-3 inches wide. Leathery leaves are dark green. Fall color is an outstanding mix of reds, oranges, and a touch of yellow. Its bark has a 3-tone brown, light brown, tan pattern that is extremely interesting in the winter. Tree rarely if ever needs pruned, and will grow to about 18' tall by 12' wide. Hardy to zones 5-8.
