Edith Bogue Magnolia is an incredible plant for winter interest. It looks like a tropical Rubber tree until temperatures go below 5-10 degrees. Leaves are really thick dark green and glossy. If temps do not go below 10-15 degrees plant will maintain glossy dark green foliage into the following year. Plant blooms with huge fragrant pure white blooms during summer. Some may question plants hardiness. There is an old plant from the early nineties that is about 15ft tall in North Manchester. I have also seen a large plant in Avon Ohio about 18ft tall. It's perfectly hardy. It has been doing great in our garden since 2004. Plant is rare and underutilized.
