Actaea racemosa 'Chocoholic'

4.00 LBS

Product Description

Chocoholic is a shorter variety of Actaea, also called Black Snakeroot, Black Cohosh, and Bugbane. The purple-black foliage is an excellent addition to the shade garden, a nice contrast to the bright green leaves of Bleeding Hearts and the powder blue of Hostas. Can grow in full sun to fairly heavy shade, but for best color give it plenty of dappled sunlight. If growing in full sun, requires more moisture. This native perennial has fragrant pale pink bottle-brush-like flowers from mid-summer until fall, a real treat for your bees and butterflies! Grows 2-3' tall and wide, and is hardy to zones 4-8.
